Your Guide to Local Holiday Craft Fairs

The holidays are just around the corner, and what better way to prepare than with a trip to a craft fair? Metro Detroit has no shortage of them, and you can find everything from new holiday décor to presents for birthdays and holidays. 

Kick off the month close to home! Canton hosts its Holiday Artisan Market with over 30 vendors on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM at the Summit on the Park. For more details, be sure to visit the Canton Farmers Market website.  

Also on Saturday, November 4, 2023 is the Dearborn Holiday Boutique at Divine Child Elementary School. It runs from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM and has a $3 admission fee. This event will feature fine arts, home décor and a variety of hobby crafts, as well as a raffle. 

The following weekend, Saline and Farmington Hills have their craft fairs. On Saturday, November 11, 2023 the Saline November Craft Show is taking place at Saline Middle School. This is a juried craft show with over 250 craft booths. Admission is $5 per person and the show runs from 8:00 AM-3:30 PM.

Also on Saturday, November 11, 2023 is the Alternative Christmas Fair at Hope Lutheran Church in Farmington Hills. This event runs from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM with an admission cost of only $1. Shoppers get the chance to learn about local, national and international charities while buying one-of-a-kind items, crafts and baked goods. Proceeds support local charities. 

Art fairs and craft fairs really start ramping up the weekend before Thanksgiving. First up is the Royal Oak Market Art Fair on Thursday and Friday, November 16-17, 2023, indoors at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. It runs from 11:00 AM-9:00 PM each day and will feature over 60 jury selected artists as well as live entertainment and food vendors. 

The Wayne Open-Air Christmas Market & Festival, located in downtown Wayne at Notre Dame Hall, will run from 11:00 AM-7:00 PM, Friday through Sunday, November 17-19, 2023. Admission is free and the event includes craft vendors, food trucks, music, free photos with Santa and more. 

Plymouth-Canton’s very own Holiday Arts and Crafts Show will take place on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Plymouth High School. It runs from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM and admission costs $5 per person. The event will have over 130 unique, juried crafters and artists, as well as door prizes, raffles and concessions. Proceeds will go to the Plymouth Canton Music Boosters to support P-CEP band programs. 

If are up for visiting a second craft show on the same day, Southgate Band Boosters is also hosting their Holiday Craft and Vendor Show from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Davidson Middle School. Admission is $2.

If you don’t feel like driving very far, Plymouth is holding their Tree Lighting and Red Kettle Kick-Off on Friday, November 10, 2023 in Downtown Plymouth. Drink hot chocolate, eat yummy cookies and listen to the Salvation Army Brass Band at this fun event. 

For your last-minute holiday shopping needs, don’t miss Handcrafters Tinsel & Treasures on December 8-10, 2023 at the Embassy Suites in Livonia. The $4 admission fee covers all three days to this show full of high-quality handmade holiday decor and gifts for everyone on your list.
