“Back in my day, we didn’t have little computers in our pockets. When we got bored, we raced turtles, rolled down hills or talked to rocks.”
Okay, maybe not every older person says this, but they sure do talk about the times before computers, phones, and video games a lot… and for good reason. According to the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychology, too much screen time can actually cause irregular sleep patterns, obesity, behavior problems and impaired academic performance. So maybe there’s something to those old-school activities after all.
Thankfully, there are lots of ways to have “classic fun” for the whole family right here in Canton or Plymouth.

Little Guide Detroit and Canton Leisure Services are great places to check for upcoming events. The latter has Therapeutic Recreation Activities for those with disabilities who might need extra care.
With so many options, why not turn back time and have fun like they used to? Just don’t roll down any hills that are too big.
