Get Books By Mail

Canton residents who are unable to physically come to the library due to a permanent or long-term illness or disability, or seniors without a way to get library materials, can sign up to receive books by mail at no cost.

Through this service, materials are sent directly to your home via the United States Postal Service and pre-paid postage is included to return the items to the library.

Books, both regular and large print, audiobooks, and DVDs can be borrowed through Books By Mail for up to 8 weeks. Some library materials are excluded from this service. Standard library fees will apply for lost and damaged items.

Interested in Books By Mail?

  1. Complete a Books By Mail application. Call us at 734-397-0999 and an application will be mailed to you. You can also ask for a Books By Mail application through the Contact Us form.
  2. A librarian will call you once we’ve received your application. The librarian will talk to you about your library card and answer any questions you may have about the service. Based on your interests and reading preferences, the librarian will select materials and mail them to you.
  3. Done reading/listening/watching? Mail the materials back to the library, free of charge. Receive a new supply of library materials within a few days.
