All’s Fair in Summer

One of the many fun things about summer is the municipal fairs and festivals. Here in our specific area of Canton, and the wider southeast Michigan area, we are lucky to have several fairs and festivals to choose from. To help everyone navigate the available options, we here at the library have compiled a list of these exciting 2026 festivals and fairs for your perusal.

June

Ann Arbor African American Downtown Festival is on Saturday, June 6, from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM. There will be live entertainment, several vendors and good food. The organizers encourage bringing lawn chairs and, most importantly, having a good time with the community. For more information, check out the event website.

Motor City Irish Festival will be held on Friday, June 12, through Sunday, June 14, at Greenmead Historical Park in Livonia. Watch dancing and listen to live music while you eat and enjoy all things Irish. For more information, see the event website.

Pawfest in Dearborn is on Saturday, June 13, from noon-8:00 PM. There will be live music, food, drinks and activities for the whole family. There is a $5 admission fee, but kids 12 and under get in free. Parking is free and, of course, dog friends are welcome. For further information, see the event website.

Ann Arbor’s Top of the Park is an outdoor summer festival featuring admission-free concerts, outdoor movies after the sun goes down, culinary treats and family attractions. The festival is scheduled to start on Sunday, June 14 and will last for several weeks. For more information, see the event website.

Canton Liberty Fest will take place from Thursday, June 18, to Saturday, June 20. An important note for this year is that the community fireworks will be held later in the summer to coincide with a nationwide “America 250” celebration, but there will still be plenty of fun to be had. Carnival rides, games, live entertainment, vendors, a food truck rally, and the 13th Annual Liberty Run are among the events taking place on those three days. Entry into the festival grounds is free. For more information, see the event website.

Livonia Spree is from Tuesday, June 23, to Sunday, June 28. There will be rides, food, games, live entertainment, a beer tent and, of course, the fireworks show on Sunday. Special events include a cornhole tournament on Tuesday and Family Pizza Night on Wednesday. For more information, see the event website.

Belleville Lake Fest will take place from Friday, June 26, to Sunday, June 28. It is described as “live music, good food, cold drinks and lakefront views all weekend long.” If this sounds right up your alley, be sure to check out the event website.
