Time flies faster than the wind, but here we are at the end of the 62 Days of Summer, the best 62 days of your year. This summer brought fun, programs, surprises and delight as patrons of all ages poured into the library to experience what Canton Public Library had to offer.
How many programs did you get to attend? We had an amazing time listening to stories and songs while enjoying the flowers and pollinators at our Wings of Wonder Storytimes. Patrons had the chance to spread their creative wings at programs such as Tie-Dye, Baby Masterpiece, Clay Pot Toadstools, Adult Writers’ Group, Plein Air Painting, and our Hobby Horse Workshop.
We also started our new Summer Adult Meetup programming to make sure that grown-ups have a wonderful summer and can just be themselves, without always having to worry about what the kids are up to.

Did you get tons of reading done? So many new books, e-books, and media were added to our collection this summer to make sure you could tackle your TBR list, which is probably a mile long. From kids to adults, there was something for everyone to explore on our new bookshelves, in the Lucky Day collection and throughout the rest of the library.

Our Best Life Team, or BLT, at the library works year-round to plan 62 Days of Summer. They get started almost as soon as the previous summer ends, meeting twice a month to hash out the vibe for the upcoming year, as well as the graphics, programs and experiences we are excited to provide for our patrons.
Then, the BLT works with librarians to plan and schedule the amazing programs that take place nearly every day during the summer. That’s right, there is something you can do at the library daily!
After all the planning is done, the call goes out to all library departments for staff to sign up to help our programs and activities run smoothly. It really does take a village to raise a 62 Days of Summer program.

Great news—there are still fun programs left through August 15, 2026, including Dance Your Fanny Off, Wings of Wonder Storytime, Pint Size Polka, Lemonade on the Front Porch, World Language Storytime: Kannada, Summer Adult Meet Up: Saturday Morning Cartoons, and of course, our amazing end-of-summer Final Party! We can’t wait to see you at the library.
