If you need to print when using your personal laptop, PC, or mobile device while in the library, at home, or anywhere with an internet connection, you can create a remote print job. Remote printing costs the same as printing from a CPL computer. Canton Public Library uses Printer-On to provide this service.
Printer-On supports multiple methods for submitting the digital content you need printed, but most people use email.
To submit a print job as an email attachment:
- For black & white printing, email the file to: firstname.lastname@example.org
- For color printing, email the file to: email@example.com
After sending, you will receive a response email from firstname.lastname@example.org (at busy times this can take several minutes). Once your email has been processed, multiple entries will appear in the print queue on the monitor on the Self Service Area counter. One is the contents of the email message itself (identified with the email’s subject line), and then there is one entry in the queue for each attachment (these are identified by filename). Print only those files you need.
Before forwarding an existing email message to be printed, be sure to check that the forward includes the attachments you would like to print. If you are printing an email, and want to include the entire email thread, check to be sure that these are included in your forward.
