Hey Kids,
It's Thorndyke here, your resident bear expert on, well, everything. It's that time of year when humans like to spend time with loved ones, celebrate and give gifts. And, I bet you're looking for that perfect gift idea. Don't worry, I've got you covered, and it won't cost you much at all!
Just give berries. Or nuts. Or honey. Or fish. Oh! Or insects! Insects make an excellent little afternoon snack. Who wouldn't want to get insects?
What do you mean, "humans don't like those?" Hmm. You're really missing out.
Well, you can also check out Creativebug. It has simple, video instructions for beautiful crafts. You could make a gift, either by yourself or as a family.
For instance, you could make a collage art tag, a clothespin doll, or a crystal yeti. The site even shows you how to gift wrap them.
Happy holidays!
Your friend,
Thorndyke
P.S. My favorite (non-insect) gift idea is rolled beeswax candles.
Here's a list of supplies you'll need:
- Sheet beeswax (one 8" x 8" sheet makes about fifteen 2.5" candles)
- Waxed hemp wick
- Cutting mat, craft knife and ruler
- Book or some kind of edge to assist with rolling
- Scissors
- Optional: heat gun/hair dryer
Once you have your materials, follow the Creativebug tutorial linked above to get started!
