Hey Kids,
Great news! I am done hibernating for the season and spring is here. What a wonderful feeling to come out of my cave and have the chance to once again enjoy playing in the sunshine.
Also, boy am I hungry. Do you know where I can get some tasty fish? I just love a good salmon.
Now that I am going to be awake for a while, I get to find fun things to do with my friends. We not only love playing games and reading together, but also creating fun pieces of art.
I can’t wait for us to try this new and colorful way to make pictures with bubbles. I got the idea from this website I saw on the internet. The blog is called Broogly, and they have directions for making some super fun bubble art. Little Bear is so excited to try it out that it is a good thing I have already bought paper, food coloring and bubbles.
The internet is full of interesting things for a fun bear and his friends to do. It turns out there are lots of different ways to create bubble art. I had no idea!
The blog Typically Simple uses tempera paint, straws and bubbles to make lovely, brightly colored creations. Another fun blog I found, called Artful Kids, has three different ways to make bubble art. The one with the bowlful of blue bubbles certainly looks interesting.
One of the fun and creative databases on our website is Creativebug. You will need to use your Canton Public Library card and create a password to login for free, but they have so many wonderful videos all about creating different kinds of art, including this one on making Bubble Prints. They even turned their lovely bubble print pictures into cards to share with friends. What a lovely idea. Friends and family love to get homemade cards made by you.
Here is the bubble art Little Bear and I made today.
Have fun!
Your friend,
Thorndyke
