Did you miss storytime? Perhaps it is just one of those days when you need a little boost with your little ones. Fret not. We have gathered some storytime resources for you at home, thanks to our librarians. Follow our steps below or mix and match for the ultimate storytime experience.
Today's Theme: Trucks
1. Energize with a Song
Sing to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.”
Hello, hello here we are
With our friends from near and far.
Ready now to read and play
With our friends all here today.
Hello, hello here we are
With our friends from near and far.
2. Read a Book About Trucks
Buckle up for a fun ride through our favorite children’s books all about trucks. From dump trucks to fire engines, this list celebrates big wheels, loud engines and busy days at work.
3. Activity: License Plate Spotting
Turn your next car ride or walk into a license plate spotting game. Semi trucks are especially fun to watch, since they often have license plates from other states and travel long distances. You can count how many different states you see, wonder aloud about where the trucks might be coming from, or talk about how people and stories can come from many different places.
4. Sing a Goodbye Song
See you next time! Wrap up your storytime and sing along with our librarians to "Skinnamarink."
