Storytime: Pizza

Did you miss storytime? Perhaps it is just one of those days when you need a little boost with your little ones. Fret not. We have gathered some storytime resources for you at home. Follow our steps below or mix-and-match for the ultimate storytime experience.

Today’s Theme: Pizza

1. Energize with a Song

"Glad You’re Here Today" (sung to the tune of “The Farmer In The Dell”).

I’m glad you’re here today

I’m glad you’re here today

Let’s wave hello to everyone (wave to each other)

I’m glad you’re here today.

2. Read a Book About Pizza

Get ready for a slice of fun! This picture book list is all about pizza—from how it’s made to silly stories starring cheesy, saucy heroes. Perfect for hungry readers who love a good story almost as much as chomping on a cheesy bite of pizza.

3. Activity: Pizza Talk

The next time you make pizza at home—whether it’s homemade, take-and-bake or English muffin pizzas—invite your child to help.

Talk together about favorite toppings, notice the colors and smells and count how many pepperoni or vegetables you add. You can compare which side has more or fewer toppings, point out the pizza’s circular shape or talk about how many slices you’ll cut.

Before it goes in the oven, ask your child to make up a story about the pizza: who it’s for, where it’s going or what kind of pizza it is.

4. Sing a Goodbye Song

See you next time! Wrap up your storytime and sing along with our librarians to "Skinnamarink."
