Moving Pictures: Art Fairs in Metro Detroit

The art and culture festivals we’ve come to love over the years are back this summer. Communities throughout southeast Michigan are offering the following events. Follow the links for up-to-date info on how to enjoy these local happenings.

Wyandotte Street Art Fair – July 8-11, 2026. Going strong since 1961, the Wyandotte Street Art Fair spans six blocks filled with art, music, food and activities for all ages.

Art in the Park – July 10-12, 2026. This Plymouth staple will showcase thousands of original artworks by more than 400 artists from the United States and Canada.

Ann Arbor Art Fair – July 16-18, 2026. Ann Arbor’s downtown campus and retail areas are filled with hundreds of contemporary and traditional artists during this three-day event. Expect a mix of innovative and modern art forms as well as older crafts, such as ceramics and wood.

Sterlingfest – July 23-25, 2026. Held at the City of Sterling Heights campus, this event’s unique combination of arts and crafts, music, food and fun results in three days of sun-drenched, summertime delight.

Orchard Lake Fine Art Show – July 25-26, 2026. This West Bloomfield show is a Michigan summer staple you won’t want to miss. Expect beautiful art, a wonderful crowd and tons of awesome food from local vendors.

Belle Isle Art Fair – August 1-2, 2026. Don’t miss this juried art fair that will be held on Detroit’s Belle Isle. More than 80 artists will display their works near the James Scott Memorial Fountain.

Allen Park Street Fair – August 7-8, 2026. Discover Downriver at the Allen Park Street Fair, with food, live entertainment, craft stands and more at this annual neighborhood celebration. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Uniroyal Tire landmark.

Northville Art House Market – August 14-16, 2026. Transforms downtown Northville into an artists’ gallery featuring live demonstrations and delicious local fare.

Perrysburg Hearts the Arts – August 15-16, 2026. If you’re willing to venture to the Toledo area, there is the Perrysburg Hearts the Arts. This is a juried fair featuring artists and artisans showcasing ceramics, paintings, glass, photography, fiber and more.

Brighton Street Art Fair – August 21-23, 2026. This annual art fair is located in newly renovated downtown Brighton and will feature 125 jury-selected artists.

Arts, Beats & Eats – September 4-7, 2026. This annual Royal Oak event is an entertainment, crafts and fare-filled summer festival that’s fun for the whole family.

Art & Apples Festival – September 11-13, 2026. At Arts & Apples, the art of the apple pie and other delicious apple treats is appreciated. Apples aren’t the only thing celebrated at this festival: artists from across the land meet in Rochester to display their oil paintings, metal art, fine photography and hand-created pieces.

Funky Ferndale Art Fair – September 25-27, 2026. This event promises to be twice as funky as the average art fair, with more than 100 juried artists and 30 authors at the corner of Nine Mile and Woodward.
