Technology, family friendly projects and pop culture are topics that are covered. Cool Mom Picks is another site that gives parents tips on clothes, gifts, and books, to name a few.

ABC Activity Time

ABC Activity Time is an informal session where parents, caregivers, children and babies meet together in a relaxed environment. This drop-in playtime includes sensory activities, puzzles, and matching games for children ages birth to 5, with caregiver. No registration required. Program takes place in the Community Room. Program Dates and Times (January 16-February 17):
  • Mondays-Saturdays*, 10:30-11:00 AM
  • Mondays, 1:30-2:00 PM
  • Tuesday and Wednesday, 7:30-8:00 PM
*Saturday sessions are in the Purple Room.

Family Storytime

Family Storytimes begin the week of January 16. These storytimes are designed for children ages 5 and under with a caregiver. Storytimes are held in the Community Room and do not require registration. Saturday sessions are in the Purple Room.

Board Books Have a New Home

Looking for those little books perfect for little hands?

In response to parent suggestions, our board book collection has moved. If you're searching for a sturdy book just right for your exploring young child, look no further. The board books now live outside of the Purple Room. Great for those in Baby Storytime!

Snowflakes, No Two Alike

Ten Little Caterpillars

Ten little caterpillars by Bill Martin Jr. ; illustrated by Lois Ehlert — Bill Martin, Jr's posthumous work, originally published in 1967, brings to life the adventures of 10 caterpillars as they visit flower gardens, vegetable patches, and apple orchards, all before transforming into beautiful butterflies. This rhyming text is fun for all ages, and the beautiful artwork of Lois Ehlert is spectacular.

Music for Children Going Back to School

Hi Kids. If you are looking for some great music to get you in the mood to go back to school, look no further. We have great music CDs for all ages, from preschool to middle school, that will help you prepare for the new school year. Enjoy your first day!

Jazz for Kids

Looking for some music to help the kids chill out on these very hot days? Try some Jazz. Cool Jazz for Kids and Disney Songs the Satchmo Way are just two of the great selections of Jazz for kids. Classic crooners like Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong are some of the artists that will help your family beat the heat. More selections are available in the Children's Department. Stay cool!

Kids, come and listen to some great tales from around the world. Folktales are a great way to pass down stories and experiences from one generation to another. We will share stories and make a craft too.

The green hour will help you get your kids outside and Summer smarts for cool kids will help you encourage thinking skills while entertaining at the same time. Family Travel & Resorts is also great if you're going on a vacation.

Did you know we have puppets at the library? Did you know that we have created Puppet Kits for you to enjoy? The puppet kits contain a picture book and puppet to help bring the story to life. You can have an adventure with Curious George, get lost with Max and the Wild Things, or fight off the Big Bad Wolf with the 3 Little Pigs. Your adventures begin along the purple wall near the DVD's in the Children's Department.
