Our Learn4Life database offers a wide range of highly interactive courses that you can take entirely online. Courses run for six weeks and new sessions begin every month. All you need is a valid Canton Public Library Card and Internet access! Enjoy these free opportunities offered by your library!

Language Learning Resources

Thinking of learning a new language or brushing up on a language that you learned in the past but haven't used in a while? Or, are you an English language learner that is looking for help improving your English? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the language learning tools that the CPL has to offer are going to help you out! Come to the library and check out some of our materials for a variety of different languages:

501 Spanish verbs: fully conjugated in all the tenses in a new, easy-to-learn format, alphabetically arranged by Christopher Kendris and Theodore Kendris

Mango Languages has new content!

Mango Languages has added four new languages (Farsi, Hebrew, Korean, and Vietnamese) and five new ESL courses (in French, German, Greek, Italian, and Korean). You can start to learn any of the 34 languages being offered here today. All you need is your determination to succeed and CPL library card to access!

PowerSpeak Languages

CPL has just added another online language tool for you! PowerSpeak Languages uses an arsenal of approaches that combine systematic learning processes with innovative, yet proven methods developed specifically to each language. PowerSpeak currently offers Spanish, French, Mandarin Chinese and German.
Don't forget our other language database, Mango Languages that offers over 20 languages all available to you online as well.

Local TV features Mango Languages!

Mango Languages is the easiest way to learn to speak a new language. It's fast. It's fun. It uses real-life situations to make learning more pertinent. It's so good, Ruth Spencer from WDIV featured Mango Languages on the news.
Visit CPL's home page to learn Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, Portuguese (Brazilian), Japanese, German, Greek, Chinese (Mandarin), ESL Spanish, and more. First time users will be asked to create a username and password for the system to keep track of the progress. Remote access is for Canton Library cardholders only.
