RETURN BOX OR DROP OFF BOX

IS THERE ANYWAY THAT YOU CAN PUT ANOTHER BOX BY THE MAIN DRIVE TO THE LIBRARY? EVERY TIME I TRY TO RETURN MY BOOKS THERE IS ALWAYS A NUMBER OF CARS PARKED OR JUST SITTING THERE WAITING TO PICK UP THEIR KIDS. IT MAKES IT QUITE HARD TO DRIVE AROUND THE CIRCLE DRIVE, TO RETURN THE BOOKS ETC. BECAUSE THE CIRCLE DRIVE IS NOT WIDE ENOUGH..... PLEASE CONSIDER THIS! THANK YOU. LINDA HORGER

Consideration has been given to a drive-through book drop, however, a viable location or funds aren't currently available. Library security attempts to monitor this area when on duty (evenings and weekends) to control the very congestion you experienced. The library will continue to explore ways to communicate the need to move through the circle drive to allow access to our book drop.

The new return slot on the outside of the building is not very user friendly. I have gotten my fingers pinched twice when pushing a book in. Could the spring be loosened so it doesn't shut so quickly?

I agree with Ramona. I thought it was just me with the pinched fingers issue.

I am sorry to hear that several of you have had difficulty using the new return slots. The internal and external returns are not designed for people to place their hands into them; if you are putting hands or fingers into the slot, that would explain why the flap is pinching you.

If you place your material in the slot until the flap "catches" the front end of the item, you can then tap the end of the item with your fingers without getting them pinched in the slot; gravity takes over and the item falls the rest of the way in. This is the method I use when I return my materials--I give the end a quick tap, it falls in, and I've not had a pinched finger yet.

I hope this helps!
