Library Card

Hi, I live in Pinckney, MI and have heard great things about your library. I need to to know if I am able to get a canton card so I may borrow books.

Thanks for your question. Please refer to our Borrowing page for more information on reciprocal borrowing.

You may use your Pinckney library card at Canton Public Library to borrow materials, with some restrictions. To use your Pinckney card at CPL, bring it and valid picture ID to our checkout desk, where we will enter your information into our database. Non-Canton residents may check out materials that are available on the shelf, with the exception of video games. You also cannot place holds on materials unless you have a Canton Public Library card.

To receive full borrowing privileges, you must be a resident of Canton, work for an employer with a physical presence in Canton, or you may purchase a CPL non-resident card. The non-resident card costs $170, about what the average taxpayer pays in property taxes to support the library, and is valid for one year.

I hope this answers your questions. Thanks for your compliments of our library, and we hope to see you soon.

Best,

Eva Davis, Director
