Create Your Own Storytime at Home: Spring

Need inspiration to create your own storytime at home?  Having an at-home storytime with your children can be as simple as reading a few books, dancing together to a silly song, and reciting a rhyme. The following books, songs, and rhymes are all great suggestions for a "spring" themed storytime.

Baby Storytime

Designed for babies up to 18 months old with a caregiver, Baby Storytime features simple stories, songs, and fingerplays. Baby Storytime sessions are held in the Purple Room.

Registration begins Tuesday, March 25
Session begins Tuesday, April 15, 10:00 AM.

Money Smart Storytime

Money Smart Week, a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their finances, takes place during the week of April 5-12. Join us for a special Money Smart storytime for kids ages 3-5. We'll read some money-themed stories and have a free book giveaway.

Target Family Reading Night: Love

Families with children ages 4-8 can enjoy stories, sweets and treats to celebrate Valentine's Day at this program sponsored by Target and the Friends of the Canton Public Library. Registration begins January 20.

Baby Storytime

Designed for babies up to 18 months old with a caregiver, Baby Storytime features simple stories, songs, and fingerplays. Baby Storytime sessions are held in the Purple Room.

Session begins Tuesday, January 7, 10:00 AM.

Due to renovations the library will be closed on Tuesday, February 4. Therefore there will be no Baby Storytime on that day. Baby storytime will resume on February 11 in the Community Room.

Babymouse Book Group

BabymouseHey, kids in the third and fourth grades! Come to the library during your winter break to enjoy a lively discussion on Babymouse, Vol. 10: The Musical. We'll talk about the book, do some Babymouse activities, and even enjoy a snack or two.

Register online beginning November 25, then come to the Children's Help Desk to pick up a copy of the book. The book discussion will take place on Saturday, December 28, 2:00 PM.

Barbara Park, 1947-2013

Barbara Park, author of the best-selling Junie B. Jones series, has died at the age of 66.  Park was also the author of several stand-alone novels for middle grade-readers, including Skinnybones and The Kid In the Red Jacket, and picture books, such as Ma! There's Nothing To Do Here! Fans of Park's books will long remember her funny and realistic writing style.
