Summer Reading with the Plymouth Whalers

All ages can see the Whalers mascot Shooter and hear a special story.

Join us Saturday, July 23 between 1:00 and 5:00PM for our Pokemon Tournament. Bring your Nintendo DS and your copy of Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver for a tournament-style poke-throwdown! No registration required.

Puppet Show and Craft @ Your Library

Get SET with MET… in person


On Wednesday, June 15 from 11:00AM-6:00PM, college saving experts from the Michigan Educational Trust (MET) will available to answer questions and help parents, grandparents and others understand MET.

Stellar Science Saturday

Learn, explore and discover the excitement of science. For third through sixth graders. Registration begins May 21.

Baby Nook

The Baby Nook is an area in the library dedicated to caregivers with babies up to 18 months. The purpose of the Baby Nook is to:
  • Develop literacy skills through relationships with parents/caregivers
  • Inspire children to explore and learn through self-discovery
  • Encourage sensory development
  • Strengthen fine motor development
  • Add another area of fun to the library!
Toys in the Baby Nook must stay in the library, so others may play with them.

Reading Assistance Dogs Program

Kids and Tweens going into grades K-6, improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. Sign up for a 10 minute session. Space is limited, on a first come, first serve basis, beginning at 4:25PM.

Mother Daughter Book Discussion

The Canton Public Library is the recipient of a Giving Hope Women's Giving Circle Grant. Money from this grant is used for this Mother Daughter Book Discussion, a group for girls and their mothers or other significant women in their lives. This month's book selection is Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. Register online beginning Saturday, May 7, then pick up your books at the Children's Desk.

Bike Safety

The Canton Public Library is teaming up with Canton Public Safety and the Bike League of America so you can start bike safety week off on the right pedal. Participants can bring their bikes and bike equipment.

Ice Cream Social

Are you ready for an old fashioned Ice Cream Social? Come to the library for a cool treat and a fun time. Register online beginning May 2.

No Homework Help Today

National Honor Society Homework Help will not be available Thursday, April 14 due to the building problem that closed the Plymouth-Canton high schools. Homework Help will not be available next week because of Spring Break. They will be back on Tuesday, April 26.

Recycled Crafts

Have fun reusing and recycling everyday items you might find around the house. All ages welcome!
