Book and CD Kits for Kids

Listen and read along with one of our J Book/CD Kits. You can find them near the music CDs in the Children's Department. Pick some up today for a car trip or for listening at home. Here's a list of some popular choices:

New Babies

Is there a new baby in your house? Read some picture books about older siblings and how they adjust to all the changes that a new baby brings.

Baby Storytime

Designed for babies up to 18 months with a caregiver, these storytimes feature simple stories, songs, and fingerplays. Sessions are held in the Purple Room.

Six-week session begins September 11, 10:00 AM

Family Storytime

Family Storytimes begin the week of September 10. These storytimes are designed for children ages 5 and under with a caregiver. Storytimes are held in the Community Room and do not require registration. Saturday sessions are in the Purple Room.

September 10-October 20

  • Mondays 10:00-10:30 AM and 1:00-1:30 PM
  • Tuesdays 7:00-7:30 PM
  • Wednesdays 10:00-10:30 AM and 7:00-7:30 AM
  • Thursdays 10:00-10:30 AM
  • Fridays 10:00-10:30 AM

ABC Activity Time

ABC Activity Time will begin September 10. This is an informal session where parents, caregivers, children and babies meet together in a relaxed environment. This drop-in playtime includes sensory activities, puzzles, and matching games for children ages birth to 5, with caregiver. No registration required. Program takes place in the Community Room, unless otherwise noted.

September 10-October 20

  • Mondays 10:30-11:00 AM and 1:30-2:00 PM
  • Tuesdays 7:30-8:00 PM
  • Wednesdays 10:30-11:00 AM and 7:30-8:00 PM

Get inspired, Go Wild

Have you earned your Go Wild badge yet? If not, summer isn't over yet--so you still have time. Now that the weather has gotten better, be sure to get out and Go Wild by taking a walk in the woods or at a park, enjoying Art in the Park this weekend, July 13, 14, and 15, 2012 in Downtown Plymouth, or run through the sprinkler to cool off. No matter what you choose to do, Go Wild and have fun!

Wild Wear Wednesdays

three pigsAre you looking for a super fun way to earn your Go Wild Badge? Every Wednesday until the end of CYS on August 11, 2012, wear your favorite wild animal clothes! They can have animal prints, animal pictures, or animal sounds. It'll be a jungle in here!

Calling All Babies! If you are two-years-old or younger, join us Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 10:00-10:30 AM, as we explore Animals. Farmer's Market Storytime

On Sundays, June 24, July 15 and August 19, CPL staff visits the Canton Farmer's Market to host a storytimes and crafts. The Canton Farmer's Market is open from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. Storytimes are at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. For all ages.

Read a Tumblebook

Read a story in a new way. Tumblebooks is an online database that contains hundreds of well loved children's books told in an animated, interactive format. Many contain games, quizzes or other activities at the conclusion of the story. You can access it from your home computer or iPad or here in the library. If you are reading here in the library don't forget to bring your headphones so you'll be able to listen to the story.

Baseball! Monday Movie Madness

Join us on Monday, July 16, for an all day, baseball family movie extravaganza starting at 10:00 AM with a film for our youngest patrons and gradually getting more sophisticated, until the 6:30 PM showing of Moneyball.
