Congratulations to Verlander!

Hey Tigers fans! Join me in congratulating our pitcher, Justin Verlander, on his amazing no hitter this past weekend against Toronto! This doesn't happen every day, and it has only happened twice in the career of Mr. Verlander and only a handful of times in all of Detroit Tigers history! While waiting for the next game to start, be sure to check-out one of our awesome baseball books, to keep you busy until the announcer once again yells, "Play Ball!"

Go Tigers!

Hey Tigers fans! Did you get the chance to see our team beat the Chicago White Sox this weekend? Truly a weekend of great baseball! A little chilly for the season, but you could feel the excitement with each of our boys crossing over homeplate. Be sure to check out the Official Detroit Tigers website for all the latest on our team and you chance to order tickets and be at the game! Now that baseball season has begun, I can smell spring in the air!

Bang the drum slowly — An unlikely friendship ignites between two baseball players. One is the team's ace pitcher and social charmer; the other is the catcher, a farm boy from Georgia who lacks sophistication. (1973)

Nicklas Lidstrom Promotes Exercise, Good Diet at Field Elementary

Hi Everyone! Be sure to check out this article from the Canton Patch. The very lucky students of Field Elementary got a visit from Detroit Red Wing Nicklas Lindstrom. Enjoy!

Kids! Score Tickets for the Red Wings or Pistons

Reminder: Deadline to enter for free Pistons tickets is April 4th. Tickets for the Detroit Red Wings are sold out.

The Michigan Education Association is rewarding students for reading through the "Michigan Reads" program. The simple program requires children and teens to work with either an educator or parent. Students need to read five age appropriate books between now and April 1, 2011. Once that parent or educator confirms the books have been read, they go to www.michiganreads.com to select the Pistons or Red Wings, enter contact information and the list of books read. Within a few days, the team will respond. So get going and read five to see the Pistons or Red Wings Live!

Congratulations Green Bay!

Let's all heave a sigh of relief as Super Bowl 2011 is officially over! Now, I just watch the game for the commercials, and I am sure I am not the only one, but for those of you out there who watched the game because it was a football game, well, congrats to the Green Bay Packers! The game was a bit of a nailbiter, but I have to say, I am pleased with the outcome. For those of you who rooted for the Steelers, my condolences. Here's looking forward to Super Bowl 46!
