Are you a creative kid? This program is tailored to kids who are 7 to 10 years old. Let your creative side flow in our monthly program, Creatapillars. This exciting program will alternate between art themed and writing themed activities each month. For our December date, we will create festive noodle art. We will meet on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.  Registration will begin Monday, November 19, 2012. See you there!

Kids in grades K-4, join us for Snack Tales on Saturday, November 17, from 2:00-3:00 PM. We will read some turkey stories, and you will get to make a special treat. Registration begins Thursday, October 25. Please indicate any food allergies when registering.

Join other handcrafters for an eveing of sharing and learning.  All ages and stages are welcome at this informal gathering on Monday, December 10 at 7:00 PM in the library Purple Room.  Bring your own project, yarn and needles.

We're looking for helpful hints and special touches to make our holidays bright, cheerful and easy. Post your best tip in the comments and we'll highlight a few on Facebook every week. And don't forget to stop in the library and check out our holiday recipe exchange kiosk located by the Reception Desk. Together, we'll make it through the holidays with more joy and less stress.

Join us Wednesday November 28 from 7:00 - 8:30 PM in the Purple Room as we create poinsettia inspired fabric flowers.  These lovely hand sewn flowers make the perfect hair accessory, pin, or holiday package decoration.  Ages 12 and up.  Registration required

Join origami expert, Charles Esseltine, on Thursday, October 4 from 7:00-8:00 PM to learn about basic folds and shapes. Charles will demontrate a variety of origami models, including some fun, Halloween designs. All materials will be provided. All ages and experience levels welcome. Registration is required and will open on September 25. Little hands will need assistance from big hands. Warning: All attendants must arrive willing to have fun!

What happens when you combine great stories with an easy-to-make treat? You get "Snack Tales!" Join us Saturday, September 8th at 2:00 PM to enjoy a sweet mid-day snack based on a fun story.

Registration begins August 27th at 9:00 AM. Please indicate any food allergies in the notes field when registering. CPL librarians worked hard to tailor this program for a specific age group, so Snack Tales is for kids in grades K-4 only, with a caregiver.

On Sunday, August 19, CPL staff visits the Canton Farmer's Market to host storytimes and crafts. On this Sunday, Canton Leisure Service will also be holding a book exchange. All are invited to bring their gently used books to the market where you may exchange with other book lovers for some fresh titles to add to your home library. The Canton Farmer's Market is open from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. Storytimes are at 10:00 AM and Noon. Open to all ages.

If you, like so many other grandparents are hosting your grandchildren this summer Canton Public Library offers a wide variety of programs for babies through teens this summer.  Looking for more ideas? Congratulations to Grace Lueng for a first-place award in our Quilt Show. Grace's paper pieced Musical Instruments quilt won the popular vote. In second place was Marjorie Sheffieck's appliqued lily creation, and in third place was Dolores Hrlic's log cabin variation.
