Building Bridges Family Fun Day

Building Bridges Family Fun DayFamily Fun Day will once again be brought to you by the Muslim Community of the Western Suburbs Outreach Committee. It will be held at the Canton Mosque at 40440 Palmer Rd. in Canton on April 12th from 11am-2pm. This will feature face paining, henna, ethnic foods, sports, arab calligraphy, mosque tours and Q and A with the Imam. Please RSVP to www.mcws.org/outreach if you wish to attend so they will have an idea of how many will come.  This Family Fun Day should be fun for everyone!

Superfun Unicorn Party!

unicorn greatUnicorns are so awesome! Come and celebrate their coolness at our Superfun Unicorn Party on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. We will read a magical Unicorn story, make some fun crafts, and have an awesome snack. This program is open to kids ages 4 years to 8 years old and their caregiver. Top Ten Photo Preservation Mistakes

Presented by Priceless Photo Preservation of Ann Arbor, this is an interactive workshop that helps participants figure out the often confusing world of preserving their family photos, movies, videos, scrapbooks and slides. Among other things, you'll learn what digital formats to avoid, how commonly used scrapbooking items actually put your items in danger and how to digitize your mementos properly. Participants are encouraged to bring photos, slides and similar family memorabilia for personal evaluations and consultations with PPP partners Rob Hoffman and Hanna Primeau.
This program will take place on Wednesday, February 19 from 7:00-8:30 PM.

The amazing, creative entries in our 2013 LEGO Contest: Family Dream House will be available to view in the Community Room of the Canton Public Library beginning on Saturday, September 28 at 10:30 AM. Help us decide on the Grand Winner of our contest by voting for your favorite. Winners will be announced on Sunday, September 29 at 4:00 PM in the Community Room.

Family Portrait Craft

What does your family look like? Craft a portrait of your family for display on our Family Wall of Fame as we celebrate all of Canton's families. Join us on October 24 from 7:00-8:00 PM. All ages encouraged to attend.

Snail Mail for Seniors Card Making Extravaganza

Support Cathy Donaldson and her incredible organization Snail Mail for Seniors by creating cards for senior citizens. Cathy has been making and sending cards year round to over 750 senior citizens in assisted living and nursing homes since 2007. On Saturday September 14, from 2:00-4:00 PM she needs your help. Join her and her volunteers as they make cards celebrating Fall. We will provide the supplies, you bring your creativity!

Join us Thursday, August 8 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Internet Lab and learn how to make digital photos from old snapshots so you can email them to family and friends or share them on your Facebook page. And if you have digital photos being held “hostage” inside your cell phone or digital camera, this class will show you how to set them free! Also, learn basic editing techniques to make your good pictures look great. Then explore a few of the endless creative possibilities for using and sharing your photos. This beginner-level class includes some hands-on computer training. Prerequisite: Basic computer, mouse and Internet skills.
