Fans of PBS Mystery! are familiar with the work of Edward Gorey (1925-2000) born 88 years ago today in Chicago.  His eerie illustrations have introduced Mystery!  since 1980.  Gorey wrote and/or illustrated over 70 books, his images reminiscent of Victorian or Edwardian times with a macabre twist are instantly recognized.

Are you a creative kid? This program is tailored to kids who are 7 to 10 years old. Let your creative side flow in our monthly crafting program, Creatapillars. Our project for February will be working with salt dough. We will meet on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Registration will begin Friday, January 25. See you there!

Pinterest lets you create and share virtual "boards" full of inspiration and ideas about your passions and hobbies. Through images and links posted by other users (or by you), you can plan a wedding, collect recipes, share crafting know-how and more with your friends online! Join us on Saturday, February 2nd at 3:00 PM to learn more about this fun website and start pinning.

Prerequisites: Basic Internet skills and either an email address or a Facebook or Twitter account (required for participation-attendees without these accounts will still be able to observe).

Kids in grades 1-4, join us for Snack Tales on Saturday, January 26 from 2:00-2:45 PM. You will get a chance to listen to some great stories and cook up a tasty snack. Registration begins December 26. Please indicate any food allergies when registering.

Snail Mail for Seniors is a non-profit group set up to send greeting cards and children's drawings to senior citizens free of charge. They aim particularly for the senior that does not usually receive many visitors or mail. Come to the Purple Room anytime between 2:00-4:00 PM on January 3 and create a card to send to these oft-overlooked members of our community. We will be focus on creating Valentine's Day cards. All ages are welcome to participate. Supplies provided.

And don't forget to stop in the library and check out our holiday recipe exchange kiosk located by the Reception Desk. Together, we'll make it through the holidays with more joy and less stress.

Join us Wednesday November 28 from 7:00 - 8:30 PM in the Purple Room as we create poinsettia inspired fabric flowers.  These lovely hand sewn flowers make the perfect hair accessory, pin, or holiday package decoration.  Ages 12 and up.  Registration required
