Opening Ceremony Kicks Off 21st Winter Olympics

Billions will watch tonight's top-secret Opening Ceremony for the 21st Winter Olympics in Vancouver British Columbia. This is the first Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony to take place indoors at Vancouver's BC Place. NBC begins coverage at 7:30PM. Who will light the cauldron officially marking the opening of the games? Athletes from across the globe will come to compete in 86 separate events running through February 28th. Want to know more?

Michigan Students Head to Olympics

One pair trains locally in Canton at the Arctic Edge and the other pair trains in Ann Arbor at The Cube. I'm Feeling Very Olympic Today

The 2010 Winter Olympics begin on Friday in Vancouver, Canada. While I can't imagine you'd have time to squeeze in a movie with all those exciting sports events on, there are several family films with an Olympic bent.

Cool Runnings tells the story of the very first Jamaican Bobsled team. A Caribbean country in the Winter Olympics? They'd have to be the ultimate underdog.

D2: The Mighty Ducks continues the story of a peewee hockey team and their Lawyer turned Minor League Hockey Player Coach as they compete in the Junior Goodwill Games. Of course, the Ducks employ their signature "slapstick" to win games and learn life lessons

Registration is now open for the very first Canton Public Library Winter Olympics. Children in grades Kindergarten through Second Grade can join us as we celebrate the Vancouver Olympics. We'll have an opening ceremony and several events. Every participant will take home a medal! Register online today!

Let the Olympics Begin! Almost...

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay will be running through Windsor Wednesday December 23, 2009. Come share the excitement and fun with our Canadian neighbors for the Olympic Torch Community Celebration! The evening will be filled with musical entertainment, children's activites and will finish off with a fireworks display.
