Chow Down Delights: The Year of Eating Dangerously

The year of eating dangerously: a global adventure in search of culinary extremes by Tom Parker Bowles — In this book, Bowles travels to ‘hot’ culinary locales around the world to sample the unique and sometimes bizarre cuisine. He examines the relativity of food and proclaims that "one man’s pea is another man’s tripe."

What's 2012 in the Chinese Zodiac?

The year 2012 is The Year of the Dragon in China and the Chinese New Year begins on January 23rd. Dragons symbolize such character traits as dominance and ambition. Dragons prefer to live by their own rules, and if left on their own, are usually successful. They’re driven, unafraid of challenges, and willing to take risks. So, if you were born in any years designated as "Year of the Dragon," you may exhibit these characteristics. To check and see which sign dominates the year you were born, see the China Today website. Murder Will Out

His victims are young, beautiful and viciously mutilated. He calls himself the Beijing Ripper. Award-winning, Peter May's terrifying new addition to his China Thrillers series, Chinese Whispers pits Beijing detective Li Yan and American pathologist Margaret Campbell against an unscrupulous foe who could prove to be their deadliest enemy yet.

The Natural Laws of Good Luck

The Natural Laws of Good Luck: a memoir of an Unlikely Marriage is a beautiful memoir about a cross-cultural marriage (he is Chinese and she is American). The author, Ellen Graf, is honest and non-judgmental in sharing her and her husband's joys and challenges with language, culture, and marriage. I recommend this to anyone who has ever been in a relationship they found challenging or who enjoys reading about culture and relationships.
