Free Tax Help for Seniors Offered at Summit
The Summit offers free Tax-Aide counseling through AARP as part of an IRS-sponsored program for seniors. Trained and certified volunteer counselors assist people of low-to-middle income with special attention to those 60 and over for both federal and state returns. If you, or someone you know, are having difficulty paying for prescriptions or Medicare Part B, trained MMAP Counselors are available to walk you through the application process step by step. By calling 1-800-803-7174, individuals will be routed to their local MMAP office. An additional service MMAP Counselors can offer is to explain the available Medicare Part D Prescription plans so that the consumer can make an educated decision on which plan will work best for them.

New Benefits Enrollment Site for Older Adults with Financial Problems
Adults 60 years and older and people with disabilities can contact the Legal Hotline for Seniors and get help over the phone to find out if there are any programs and services that they can apply for that will ease their financial situation (paying for prescriptions, utilities, home improvement services, etc). If you have any questions call 1-800-347-5297 to speak with a benefits counselor.
