Everything Green

Hey Kids,
Being green is definitely the color to be these days, whether you're a kid or a frog. Kermit the frog from the Muppets is green and even sang a song about it. This fun program for 1st-3rd graders will be all about things that are green, as well as celebrating the coming of spring. Online Registration opens April 4.
Program Date: Monday, April 18, 11:00-11:45AM.

Rain

Now that it's Spring, we can expect a few rain showers here and there. It's easy to grumble about those rainy days, but rain is all part of the water cycle that helps grow plants and trees. Rain is one of the sources for freshwater in our homes, and in factories to make paper for library books. Check out a book on rain like, One Big Rain, or Who Likes Rain, and go ahead and jump in a puddle (sshh)! And remember, those May flowers are coming!

Let's Go Fly a Kite

April is National Kite Month and we want to share this spring fun with you. At this program on Tuesday, April 12 at 7 p.m., you will be able to make a simple craft to take home and enjoy on those windy spring days. Families with children ages 4-9 can attend this program funded by the Target Store Early Childhood Reading Grant and the Friends of the Canton Public Library. Program includes stories, games and snacks. Participants receive a free book. Register today for this fun, family program.

Fall Back This Weekend

Daylight Savings Time begins March 13th at 2:00AM. Don't be left behind and set your clocks ahead one hour. Daylight Saving Time also brings longer days, brighter mornings, bird songs, flowers and Springtime! Learn more about the history of Daylight Saving Time.

Spring Cleaning!

Now that spring is right around the corner (the first day of spring is March 20th!), it's time to think about spring cleaning. I know, cleaning is never that much fun, but you can make it a little better by reading about some of your favorite characters doing the exact same thing! Read Clifford's Spring Clean-Up or Lionel in the Spring for some spring cleaning inspiration. Before you know it you'll have helped your parents get the whole house in top shape!
