Even when I don't agree with the director's interpretation of the work (the end of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince had me downright angry!) there is a special magic in seeing beloved characters come to life on screen. As we celebrate the city's 312th birthday, check the books, websites and other materials listed here to discover more about the Motor City and its colorful past.
