Initially founded to include cities of Plymouth, Canton, and Livonia. Membership is open to anyone. Members receive a membership card good for discounts on art supplies, a monthly newletter by mail, free professional demonstrations, presentations, and workshops in various mediums, critiques of their works, the opportunity to participate in art shows with chances to sell artwork and enjoy the fellowship of like-minded creative people.

Local Troops are a safe place for girls to grow and share new experiences, learn to relate to others, develop values and contribute to society. GSHVC offers dozens of activities for Girl Scouts and their families, including camping, the arts, environmental education and exploration of local cultural institutions.
