Miss Ruth Hugging Thorndyke

Hey Kids,

Did you know that June 1 is National Say Something Nice Day? Maybe you could find a way to say something nice today. I’ve been thinking of nice things I could say if you visit:

“I’m so happy to see you.”

     “You’re very kind.”

     “I like your hat.”

     “Maybe we could play together.”

“Would you read me a story?”

I decided in honor of the day that I would read books about friendship and manners. A few of the ones I found are listed below.

Bear Hugs,

Thorndyke

#SaySomethingNiceDay

The nice book by David Ezra Stein

Monkeys, mice, snakes, cats, and many other animals demonstrate how to act towards others.

Mr. Rabbit wonders if he will be able to get along with his new neighbors, who are otters, until he is reminded of the golden rule..

Did you miss our Monday Manners Storytime this week? Don't worry, here's what you missed, plus a few more suggestions for a very polite storytime you can do at home.

From Storytime

Horrible bear! by Ame Dyckman

When Bear breaks a little girl's kite, she thinks he is a "HORRIBLE BEAR!"--until she makes a mistake of her own and learns the power of saying "I'm sorry."

Song: If You're Happy and You Know It

This is a great song to add your own verses! We included two extras this week:

If you're thankful and you know it say thank you.

If you're sneezing and you know it cover your mouth (and of course say "ahhhchoo")
