Computer Classes

Join us on Tuesday, May 10 from 10:00 - 11:30AM for our look into staying safe on the Internet. Get the know-how to protect your identity and family while surfing and shopping on the Internet. *Registration required.

If you or someone you know needs assistance with basic computer skills, including Internet use and setting up an email account, please stop in to CPL's Internet Lab between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 14 for our drop-in skills lab. We will have guided activities for practice with mouse skills, copying/pasting, and more.  A librarian will be on hand to answer any questions you may have or direct you to activities and tutorials to help build basic computer skills.

 

*This lab is restricted to basic computer skills, as listed above. Staff will not be able to assist with the diagnosis or repair of computer equipment, or with online financial transactions.

Have you hit a snag with your ereader?  Patrons in need of one-on-one assistance can come in on Fridays from 10:00-11:00 AM to receive basic or extended help with borrowing or downloading books to your electronic device.  No registration required, just drop in!

Movies and music and books, oh my! Did you know that you can stream or download thousands of items to your computer or mobile device to enjoy your library where you go? From Zinio's 175 digital magazine titles to Hoopla's streaming movies, music and more, our emedia services have just what you need — even if you're on vacation!

Join us Thursday June 9 at 7:00 PM in the community room to take a tour through our Library's emedia services, taking a close look at options for streaming and downloading movies, TV, music, ebooks and eaudiobooks. Registration begins May 24!

The Canton Public Library offers free Gale Courses to its cardholders, and the next set of classes is will begin on Wednesday, April 13. Learn on your own schedule, and receive a certificate of completion when you've finished. Our goal is to provide lifelong educational opportunities for you to gain new skills or improve existing ones. A more advanced Excel class, great for work or school projects. Learn custom sorting and conditional formatting to make sense of your data. Create eye-catching tables, charts and graphs. Prerequisite: Beginning Excel or previous experience with Excel.
