Career Planning Secrets with Tom Maslyk

Local resident, Tom Maslyk, will share his well-researched secrets to career planning. Maslyk will stress some basics like your mission or vision for your career and then reach outside the box to include your values, your achievements and do a gap analysis to address your skills. A manager at IBM, Maslyk has 32 years personal experience and has counseled dozens to successful career paths. Join us on Thursday, March 29 at 7:00 PM.

Bollyfit

Get moving with Bollyfit as we continue to partner with Canton Leisure Services in support of their 100 Days to Health. Space is limited so sign up quickly and wear comfortable clothing for this program on Saturday, March 10th at Noon. Registration begins February 25.

It's Tax Time with H&R Block

Join Phyllis Wood and her team from Canton's H&R Block to learn the latest tax law changes in Michigan. Don't miss an opportunity to receive the best refund possible on Thursday, March 1st at 7:00 PM.

Open Chess

Tim Heller, avid chess player, hosts informal open play on the second and fourth Sundays of most months while providing instruction and pointers on improving your game. Beginners welcome.

Author Jeffrey Zaslow Visits

This event has been canceled due to the death of the guest of honor.

Wall Street journalist and bestselling author Jeffrey Zaslow pays us a visit. Zaslow is best known for such amazing books as The Last Lecture, The Girls from Ames, Gabby: a story of courage and hope and many more. His newest novel, The Magic Room debuted in January and recounts the hopes, dreams and transformations of thousands of women who visit The Magic Room in Becker's Bridal Salon in Fowler, Michigan at one of the most important moments of their lives. Raw Food Demo with Chef Tobias Perry

To help promote Canton Township's 100 Days to Health initiative, we welcome local chef Tobias Perry who will demonstrate recipes for vegans, vegetarians and all foodies using only a blender and a food processor on Thursday, February 16 at 7:00 PM.

The Underground Railroad in Michigan by Carol Mull

In the mid-nineteenth century, Michigan citizens rose up to protest the moral offense of slavery. Among other campaigns, the Underground Railroad was established as a network of escape from slavery. Local author Carol Mull shares first-person accounts with an historical overview as we continue our celebration of Black History Month. Join us on Thursday, February 9 at 7:00 PM for this meaningful evening.

Canton Christian Fellowship Praise Choir

We are celebrating Black History Month with the return visit of the Praise Choir from the Canton Christian Fellowship Church under the direction of music director Darren Patterson. Come join the celebration on Thursday, February 2 at 7:00 PM.

Target Family Reading Night: Life's a Beach Luau

Break out the Sunscreen! Sport your sunglasses and dig those flip-flops out of hibernation. There's no better way to beat the winter blues than to spend a night enjoying beach themed stories, games and crafts. Children ages 5 to 8 and their families are invited to join us on Thursday January 12th at 7:00 PM in the Community Room. Registration begins on December 29th.
