Press Here

Kids, press the yellow dot on the cover of this book, follow the instructions within, and embark upon a magical journey! Each page of this surprising book will tell you to press the dots, shake the pages, tilt the book, and then discover what will happen next! Press Here is great for large groups like storytime, or fun for just one. It is a fantastic "interactive" book; as good, if not better than any new app you can download! We here at CPL give it two BIG thumbs up!

Tooth Fairies

Hey kids, have you lost a tooth recently? Ever wondered how the tooth fairy came to visit you? Now you can go on an adventure with April and Esme Tooth Fairies to find out. April and Esme get a special request from Daniel's Grandma to make their first ever "tooth visit" on the title page of this book. Discover what it takes to be a tooth fairy and what they do if the child begins to wake up. If you liked April and Esme, you may enjoy our other tooth fairy adventures.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

April is National Kite Month and we want to share this spring fun with you. At this program on Tuesday, April 12 at 7 p.m., you will be able to make a simple craft to take home and enjoy on those windy spring days. Families with children ages 4-9 can attend this program funded by the Target Store Early Childhood Reading Grant and the Friends of the Canton Public Library. Program includes stories, games and snacks. Participants receive a free book. Register today for this fun, family program.

Chicken Big

It's not a squirrel, it's not an umbrella, it's Chicken Big! In this hilarious tale of a very large creature, we get to use our investigation skills to discover exactly what this very large, yellow creature is. Is it a sweater, or an elephant? You'll have to read it to find out!

We have many other chicken adventures to choose from, maybe even a Chicken Little!

Storytime Resource

This website is a helpful resource for teachers, librarians and parents of young children. Instructors walk readers through various songs and rhymes in video clips.  It is helpful to see the rhyme done with motions, as well as reading the words that are being said.

Storytime Registration

Storytimes are starting the week of January 11! Online registration for everyone begins December 28, at 9:00AM. All children must have their own library card to register. We have storytimes for various ages: 4 months - not yet walking, Walking - not yet 2 years old, 2 - not yet 4 year olds and 4 - 5 year olds.

Questions about Storytime Registration?

The library's Connections has begun arriving at homes and our phones have begun ringing with lots of questions! Registration is still required for Storytime and begins on Monday, December 28th for all patrons. Registration is also required for the Book Discussions for kids, and begins two weeks before the date of the book discussion. We apologize for the confusion.
