Chow Down Delights: Trail of Crumbs
Trail of crumbs: hunger, love, and the search for home: a memoir by Kim Sunee — one woman's story of the strength, perseverance, and passion that food brought to her life. At the age of three Kim Sunée was abandoned at a South Korean marketplace by her mother. Left with only a handful of food Sunée survived three days and nights before a she was found by a police officer. Adopted by a family in New Orleans she was one of two Asian children in her community growing up. At 21 she became involved with a French businessman, moved abroad, and gained the title of stepmother to his eight year old daughter. Throughout her journey whenever she felt uneasy, lonely or out of place preparing and cooking gourmet meals brought her comfort and calm.

Hey kids!Well, LB is at it again. This past weekend he went to a wedding with Miss Ruth in New York. On the way home they stopped at Niagara Falls. This means that LB has been to Niagara TWICE and New York TWICE this year! Wow! What a lucky bear! But since there are always new things to try, he had some new adventures. Miss Ruth introduced LB to Yogen Fruz, which is really yummy frozen yogurt. It's hard to explain really, so he took lots of pictures. Basically you get to pick the flavors of your frozen yogurt from the fresh fruit provided, and then they blend it all up! The result is cold, fruity, pink wonderfulness! Sadly, there isn't any Yogen Fruz in Michigan, so I doubt I will get any soon. But it is located in other cool places! Maybe someone will take LB to California or Iowa or Minnesota or Hawaii or Bulgaria so he can get some more. Wow! Yogen Fruz is in a lot of places!
I can't wait to see where LB ends up next! Until then...

Hey Kids!
No, I haven't shrunk! Remember my little friend LB? Well he had himself an adventure recently. He snuck into a librarian's suitcase and traveled all the way to the Dominican Republic! Man, he's so lucky to be travel size. I think someone would notice if I tried to do something like that. Any who, LB told me all about the fun things that he did. Sounds like the DR is a pretty fun place! You should check out some of the books we have at the library and read about it!

I just finished reading a travel memoir called "The Geography of Bliss: One Grump's search for the Happiest Places in the World", that was both humorous and introspective. Eric Weiner deserves points for devising a new way to address the question of what makes peaple happy and why. To this end he goes off to nine unusual locales including Bhutan, Iceland and Qatar. His final stop is United States, which "is not as happy as it is wealthy". With engaging wit and some suprising insights, the author ( a self-professed grump) offers travelers some interesting new ideas for sunnier destinations and dispositions.- chitra rout
