Create Your Own Comics

Ka-Pow! Shazam! Do you love comics? Have you always wanted to be the next Stan Lee or Kazu Kibuishi? Join our Create Your Own Comics Program on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM as we take you step by step in how to create your own comic. This program is open to kids ages 7 to 12 years old.

Explore Michigan Wildlife

Spring is here and so many plants and animals are coming out to enjoy the nice weather. Join us as we learn about plants and animals native to Michigan and go on a hunt to find some of them outside behind the library. This outdoor program will take place on Wednesday, May 25 from 7:00-8:00PM It is open to kids aged five years to 11 years old and their caregiver. Registration for this program begins on April 26, 2016.

Read and Share

Are you looking for a fun way to earn some Super Bookworm badges for reading this summer? Come to our Read and Share program. Bring your blankets and lounge chairs as we will meet in the Community Room and then chill in the courtyard while we read a story or two together.  Then we will take some time to read on our own and then gather to share what we are reading at the end. You can bring your own book or read one of ours. All ages welcome! If there is inclement weather this program will be held in the Community Room.

Who loves Pete the Cat? I do! I do! Come to our Party with Pete on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.  We will have tons of fun reading some Pete the Cat stories, creating some crafts, having a snack, and visiting with our super special guest, Pete himself! Registration begins February 23, 2016 and is open to kids ages 5 to 9 and their caregiver.  See you there and don't forget your camera!

Kindergarten

Fred and Velma want to debunk the stories of ghosts and ghouls at Crystal Cove after the kids of Mystery Incorporated arrive in the small village, but the locals do not seem anxious to have their mysteries solved.

Detective Jeffrey Bones hates taking math tests, especially one he has forgotten to study for, so when his test paper goes missing he must make a choice--retake the test and try to do better, or find the missing paper.

We're happy to announce the start of the Children's Department remodeling project in January 2016.  Due to our limited meeting space during this time, instead of meeting on a monthly basis we’ll be emailing our list when volunteer opportunities arise. You can sign-up on a first-come, first-served basis for those hands on events from January through May 2016. We’ll update the monthly calendar when regular meetings will begin again.
