Don't fret - you can renew library materials online at any time, from your hotel or vacation cottage. Or call (734-397-0999) during normal business hours to speak with someone at the Checkout Desk. (Our direct-dial automated renewal line is no longer available and the automated service will be discontinued September 1, 2009.)

Apply for a Card

A Canton Public Library card is the only card you need for your educational, business and entertainment needs! With this card, you can:

• Access thousands of books, videos, games, CDs, DVDs, BCDs and databases
• Checkout our eReaders
• Place holds on available and checked out items. You'll be notified when the item is ready for pick- up
• Request items through our interloan department
• Renew items

Library cards are available to residents of Canton Township, Plymouth and those who work or go to school in Canton. Just present valid photo ID, pay stub or current school ID with a Canton address. See our Circulation Policy for full details.

Renewable materials may be renewed four times after the original checkout unless they are on hold for another patron.

Online Renewal

Log in to your Patron Record to view the list of items that you have checked out. You can either put a check mark in each of the boxes for items you wish to renew, then click on "Renew Selected Items," or you can simply click on the box, "Renew All." Online renewal is available at any time.

Staff Renewal

The staff of the Canton Public Library can help, either by phone at 734-397-0999 [option #3], or in person at the Checkout Desk if you're visiting the library. Please have your library card ready. In both cases, these renewals must be done when the library is open (Regular business hours and holiday closings).
