I always enjoy movie adaptations of favorite books. Even when I don't agree with the director's interpretation of the work (the end of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince had me downright angry!) there is a special magic in seeing beloved characters come to life on screen. Did you know that Detroit was founded on July 24, 1701 by French explorer Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac?
