The library is teaming up with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) to host a document shred event on Tuesday, March 4, from 10:00 AM- 3:00 PM. Bring up to four boxes (approximately 300 lbs.) of personal documents, like old tax returns and other sensitive materials, to be shredded free of charge. Please remove large binder clips from documents; paper clips and staples are allowed. While your documents are being shredded, learn about various fraud schemes and how to protect yourself. The shredder will be in the parking lot on the west side of the building. Pull around the drive in your vehicle and follow directional arrows. This event is for personal document shredding only.
Local residents can shred their documents at Community Financial Credit Union's Canton branch from 2:00-4:30PM Saturday, May 22. The special event is being hosted in partnership with Iron Mountain, a provider of secure information destruction. The Iron Mountain trucks will be available in the branch's parking lot located at 6355 N. Canton Center in Canton.
