Anne Heidemann, Department Head for Children's, Tween & Tween Services at the Canton Public Library, was the winner of the 2011 Frances H. Pletz Award for Excellence in Service to Youth from the Michigan Library Association. The award, given annually to a Michigan library staff person who has made a career of outstanding contribution to the field of library service to youth, was awarded last year to CPL librarian Anna Slaughter, making the trip to the award podium a repeat for the Canton Public Library.

Anna Slaughter, Teen Librarian at Canton Public Library, was recognized by the Michigan Library Association (MLA) with the Frances H. Pletz award, given to a Michigan Public Library worker who has made a significant contribution to teens through public library service.
