national trails day

June 2nd is National Trails Day® on the Rouge

American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day® (NTD) is a celebration of America’s magnificent Trail System, occurring annually on the first Saturday in June. NTD features a series of outdoor activities, designed to promote and celebrate the importance of trails in the United States. Individuals, clubs and organizations from around the country host National Trails Day® events to share their love of trails with friends, family, and their communities, and Canton's beautiful Lower Rouge Trail is no exception.

The event takes place on Saturday, June 2nd, 9am-12pm. Attendees can start at the Lower Rouge Trailhead, located at Michigan Ave and Morton Taylor Rd. A librarian from Canton Public Library will be stationed at the trail with information on hiking and the outdoors as well as some freebies to help you on your journey. Check out our display in the front lobby, visit cantonfun.org, or call 734-394-5472 for more information. FREE for all ages.
