Happy Birthday to You

Hey kids, did you know Canton Public Library celebrates birthdays? During your birthday month you can fill out a special paper shape for your birthday that is displayed here on the Birthday Wall in the Children's Library. And you'll get a small token as a birthday gift from the library too. Happy Birthday!

Children's Holiday Books Have Moved

The Children's Holiday Book collection has moved. Holiday picture books, including those about Valentine's Day, can be found on the Children's Holiday Book shelf, located between the Baby Nook and the J CD collection. Please ask at the Children's Desk if you need assistance locating an item.

Working on a Project?

Did you know that our Copy Station not only offers a place to print documents, but also has the resources to staple, hole-punch or cut your documents? A stapler, hole-punch and scissors are available at the Copy Station during regular library hours. If you come to the library to work on a project, you may make use of our Social Zones to put your project together, but you must bring any additional supplies.

Do you love to draw? Are you learning how to play an instrument? Looking for your favorite sports team or sporting activity? How about that special craft for that special someone? Well, look no further, this is all in the J700 to 799 collection! We have a wonderful selection of art, music, sports, crafts, games, and so much more. Be sure to check out our books and DVDs. What kind of dog do you wish you had? How fast does a Corvette really go? What does the inside of the human body look like? If you have ever asked yourselves these questions and more, then you should definitely visit the J600-699 collection in the Children's Section. This is the nonfiction collection that is chock full of cats, cars, pets, cooking, gardening, health, body parts, and so much more. See you in the stacks!

Are you looking for something different? Interested in Mythology or Religion? The J200-299's are the collection for you. Come and explore Mythology from all over the world including, Greek Myths, Roman Myths, and Norse Myths. Learn more about your own Religion or delve into someone else's. Enjoy!

Children's Featured Films

It's one of the highest trafficked areas of Canton Public Library's Children's Department. We're talking about rows 20-22, where all the Children's Feature Films live. Here you'll find current favorites like Dora the Explorer, Sesame Street, and Thomas the Tank Engine. You'll also find full length movies, like Tangled, The Sandlot, and The Great Muppet Caper, when they're not already checked out that is! Have a favorite cartoon from when Mom and Dad were little? We probably have those too! Movies check out for a week and are free! So stop here first the next time you plan a Family Movie Night.

J100 — Some Weird Stuff!

The J100-199 section of Children's Non-fiction has a lot going on! We have a wide range of topics including the Supernatural (witches, ghosts), Optical Illusions, Feelings, Friendship, and Death. Stop on by and enjoy!
