Instead of having to go out in the cold, or to navigate your way in the library building currently under partial construction, you can simply go to our eMedia page, pick and choose to borrow our ebooks, eAudiobooks, music, and videos. Have a homework assignment or research project? Use our many databases to find your answers. Interested in taking an online course? Our February Learn4Life classes start on the 19th. OverDrive eBook Advantage!

Are you itching to try out the new eReader you received recently? We have bestsellers from your favorite authors such as Michael Connelly, Amy Tan, Wally Lamb, Nicholas Spark and many more waiting for you to download at our eBook website. Remember these titles will show up only if you sign in first before you search. Signing in with your CPL card number will give you access to our Advantage collection where these new hot titles reside.

Someone Else's Love Story by Jackson, Joshilyn — Meet New York Times bestselling author Joshilyn Jackson on Wednesday, December 4, 7:00PM at Nicola's Books in Ann Arbor. A former actor, Jackson reads the audio versions of her novels.  She has been nominated for the Audie Award, was selected by AudioFile Magazine for their Best of the Year list, has made the 2012 Audible All-Star list for highest listener ranks/reviews, and garnered three Listen Up Awards from Publisher’s Weekly.

iPad Minis Available to Check Out

Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Library, starting December 1 we will have 11 iPad Mini eReaders to check out (for Canton/Plymouth residents only). Besides a few preloaded classics and apps, each eReader has the Overdrive app which allows you to download your favorite library ebooks. An iPad Mini checks out for 3 weeks (and, yes, you can renew it if no one else is on hold), but you must return it to a staffed desk, and it's $5 per day overdue (so remember to return it on time).

eBook Basics

Bring your registered eBook reader, current Canton Library card and join us on Friday, November 15, from 10:00-11:30 AM to learn how to check-out free library eBooks and read them on an iPad, Kindle, Nook or other device.

OverDrive Media Console V.3.0 is here!

OMC Version 3.0 for Android and iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) is here. This release brings you many exciting and convenient features. If your Android device is running OS 4.0 or newer, your Apple devices are iOS 6 or newer, iPhone 3GS or newer, iPad 2 or newer, and iPod Touch 4th generation or newer, you can go to your app store to upgrade to OMC V.3.0. Older iPads can use OverDrive Read or Kindle app to read eBooks.

New OverDrive Media Console Coming Soon!

We are delighted to announce that a new version of OverDrive Media Console (OMC) for Android and iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) is on its way. This release will include a new and improved interface design, enhancements such as syncing reading progress and bookmarks across multiple devices, and improved performance. OMC v3.0 will be available to Android and iOS users on August 20, 2013 and users will be prompted to install the new version.

Read Digital Books and Magazines

Here at the Canton Public Library we love reading in any form—and for those of you with an eReader, smartphone or tablet computer we have a world of tech-savvy options! OverDrive offers thousands of downloadable eBooks and audiobooks. Our newest addition, Zinio, allows you to read new magazines on your smartphone or tablet. Once you finish, don't forget to log on and claim your Geek Out badge!

Zinio Account Update

On June 3, 2013, a planned update to our library's Zinio Digital Magazine collection will require you to re-register your library Zinio account. Use the same email address as previously used to ensure a seamless merge, and your previously checked out magazines will be there after you re-register. You must do this on June 3 or your first time back to the log in page after June 3. Instructions can be found here as well as in the email sent to you by The Library Network. Continue to enjoy this free, cover-to-cover, magazine service!

Canton Seniors Book Group May 23, 2013

Zinio is Here!

ZinioDigital access to almost 200 of your favorite magazines is now available! Just click on the Zinio icon on the front page of our website, or click on the link from our Databases or eBooks page to get started. Newsweek, Consumer Reports, Elle Decor, Organic Gardening, Martha Stewart Living, Hockey News, Rolling Stone, and Kiplinger's Personal Finance are just some of the titles to pick from. It is recommended that you use Google Chrome from the CPL website to view issues on the library's computers.
