Target Family Reading Night: Snow Much Fun

Come celebrate the winter season with us! Kids ages 4-8 with their grownups can join us Monday, December 22 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM for tons of winter fun. We'll read a story, make a wintery craft, play games, and enjoy a tasty snack. We look forward to seeing you there!

This program is sponsored by Target and the Friends of the Canton Public Library.

Talk It Up: Read & Write

This program is for kids ages 7-10 who like to hear stories and talk about them, too. Participants will listen to a story read by a Children's Librarian, discuss it with each other afterwards, and then write a short book review. Books chosen for discussion will vary in genre and include fiction, non-fiction and biographies. No need to read the book ahead of time - just bring your listening ears and then get ready to talk it up!

This discussion will help participants build literacy skills, as well as their vocabulary and writing skills.

Program Date: September 20, 2:00 PM

Money Smart Storytime

Money Smart Week, a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their finances, takes place during the week of April 5-12. Join us for a special Money Smart storytime for kids ages 3-5. We'll read some money-themed stories and have a free book giveaway.

Program Date: April 10, 10:00 AM

Escape from Lemoncello's Library--the Canton Library Version

In the very popular book Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library, a group of tweens must use their wits to solve puzzles and escape from the new public library. Think you are up to the challenge? Students ages 9 to 12 years old can join us on Saturday, November 9 at 2:00 PM in the Purple Room for a scavenger hunt based on the book. You might even learn a little bit about the Dewey Decimal system while you're having so much fun. Registration is required and begins on October 25.

Canton Public Library's 2013 LEGO contest
