Reading Assistance Dogs
Kids and Tweens going into grades K-6, improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a dog. Sign up for a 10 minute session. Space is limited, on a first come, first serve basis, beginning at 6:25PM.Program Date: August 10, 6:30-8:30PM

Fly Fishing with James DiStefanis
Local author James DiStefanis shares his knowledge and passion for fly fishing on Wednesday, August 3rd from 7:00-8:30PM. Learn how to tie a fly and perhaps cast a line or two. No registration necessary.
Fun with Pets
Kids, have you always wanted a pet but didn't know how to take care of it? Do you have a pet but want to learn more about bonding with your four-legged friend? Come to our Fun with Pets Program on July 25, 2011 from 4:00 to 4:45PM. We'll have fun hanging out with a local vet, learning about pets, making a fun craft, and having a yummy snack. Registration starts July 11, 2011 and is open to Children ages 3-5 years old and their caregiver. Can't wait to see you!
Register for the Best in Show Dog Show!
Canton Library will host our own Best in Show Dog Show on August 6th from 10:00AM-Noon. Pets must register ahead of time — but all humans are welcome!A signed registration form and other information about your pet is required if you wish to be in the show. You must present your homeowners insurance and dog's shot records to participate.
Dogs will be judged on various criteria including appearance, behavior, best trick, and best costume. Many prizes will be awarded with an overall Best in Show grand prize for the winner.

Canton Dog Park
On Friday, May 20, Canton's new dog park opened at Preservation Park in Cherry Hill Village. The park provides a safe off-leash environment for dogs and their owners.Dogs must be licensed and vaccinated, and entrance to the park is $25 annually for Canton residents or $50 per year for non-residents. There are separate sections of the park for small and large dogs.
A grand opening celebration is planned for later in the Summer. Find out even more about the park at the Canton Patch.

Canton Library will host our own special "Best in Show" Dog Show on August 6th from 10:00AM-Noon. Pets must register ahead of time starting July 6th at 9:00AM — but all humans are welcome! A signed waiver form and other information about your pet is required if you wish to be in the show. You must present your homeowners insurance and dog's shot records to participate. Dogs will be judged on various criteria including appearance, behavior, best trick, and best costume. Many prizes will be awarded with an overall special "Best in Show" Grand Prize for the winner.
