summer program

did i miss something..what exactly are the qualifications for these program badges..do we choose one under each, do them all, are we reporting only online? is nothing happening at the library itself?? how are gifts earned..is this really attached to computer accessability??? other programs were easy to recognize..i am not clear on this..i always felt a strong part of the programs before was the personal contact with library staffers and the excitement that people generate...don t get that with a machine. more input needed..thanx I d appreciate it ..tell me why I should involve my grand ducks in scattering all over town instead of enjoying our library bldg and all its wonderful books and people...i don t see the structure of it all...i could see do x, get y...at first glance with previous programs, i see do x and y and z and and maybe abc to get...a badge, maybe...a gift or a prize or something, maybe...yes it does end, that s good , but i m lost on the rest..

The new summer program, Connect Your Summer, encourages you to visit the library, as well as other places in the community. You can earn up to 10 badges. Registration for the program is online, but if you'd like to have a paper reading log, you can print the coloring book at the bottom of the page. To earn a badge, you only have to complete one of the options, but you are welcome to complete as many as you'd like. This year we are focusing on the experiences you will have while participating in Connect Your Summer, so there will not be prizes awarded as you complete the badges. For instance, for the Sports Fan badge, maybe you'd like to read a book about soccer and then play a game of soccer with your friends. You are still encouraged to come into the library to check out books and to attend library programs. Dates and times for the library programs can be found on the program calendar. The wall outside Jungle Java is dedicated to Connect Your Summer. On this wall, we have many give-aways/coupons that were donated by our sponsors. We are continually forming new partnerships, so things are added to this wall often. To end our Connect Your Summer program, we do have a Summer Celebration on Saturday, August 13 from 12-2.

In fact, we do have some prizes for participants. In the lobby, you will find a section of the slat wall devoted to Connect Your Summer. Each day, various coupons are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please take what you can use. We also have over 100 programs at the library this summer. We will be giving out gift cards to area businesses at some of the programs. It will depend on the program and the number of attendees present - will a gift card be taped to the bottom of your chair? will you be the first (or last) to arrive? will you be the one in the purple shirt? is your birthday closest to the performer's birthday? The reasons for giving out a gift card will vary. Lastly, we like to think that the opportunity to participate in various activities around Canton with family and friends is the real reward this summer - building great experiences and memories. Please have fun with it!
