Thank you for your compliments. Our librarians work hard to develop the best CD collection possible given our budgetary constraints. I am glad that you've enjoyed using MeL.org and the MeLCat interlibrary loan system to access our CD collections; unfortunately, due to budget cuts as a result of falling property values, we will cease lending music CDs via MeLCat interlibrary loan on December 1, 2010.
If your home library is a member of The Library Network cooperative, you may use your home library card at CPL to check out music CDs directly from us. If you are not a resident of a TLN community, you may purchase a non-resident Canton Public Library card for $170 per year, which is roughly equivalent to what the average Canton taxpayer pays annually for library service. You may also request that your home library purchase the music CDs for their collection so that you may check them out.
Thank you again for your compliments of my staff and the collections we've built. I am sorry that we are no longer able to afford the costs of interlibrary loan for music CDs. We hope to reinstate music interlibrary loans when our budget situation improves.
