While we would like to be able to expand our hours--and in fact have previously discussed this internally--the recessionary effect on property values has meant a reduction in our operating budget of nearly 25%. Our focus has been on continuing what services we can afford while delivering a balanced budget each year. As the cuts continue, it is more difficult to increase our hours. With projections for a total decline in our budget of 40% by 2013, I regret that we will likely be looking at fewer open hours, not more.
