Smoking outside the doors

Can you please re-evaluate your policy regarding smoking in the front of the library? Many times I have to walk through a cloud of smoke to return my books or walk into the library. Can you think about creating a smoking area at the back entrance to the library? I really would appreciate someone taking the time to think about this. It is not healthy to be walking through second hand smoke.

In response to recent comments about second hand smoke in front of the library we did some further investigation. Through discussions with Canton Public Safety we discovered the overhang may be considered part of our entrance. This is significant because Wayne County regulations restrict smoking within 6' of a building entrance. In order to accommodate our smoking and non-smoking patrons the library will relocate the smoking area to the east end of the building (toward Canton Center Road). Signs have been ordered and will be mounted as soon as they arrive and the smoking urns will be relocated to our new smoking area.
