Thank you for contacting us regarding Lucky Day searches. The specific issue to which you refer affects searches other than Lucky Day in the system. For instance, here's a subject search for the word 'Jefferson' sorted by newest first. Note how many duplicates appear in the results. This is because those records contain multiple subjects that start with the word Jefferson. In the same way, items appearing multiple times in the Lucky Day results have multiple copies in the Lucky Day collection. It's not the most intuitive way to display results, I agree, but it's the way our system (presently) works.
Our catalog software is customizable, but only to a certain extent. Other libraries have requested the removal of duplicates in search results to the vendor as recently as last month. If anything changes in that regard, I will update it here.
