Just wanted to say Thank you! We are new canton residents and are very pleased with all our library has to offer, from materials to classes, etc. You always seem to have what I need, or if you dont I request it from MEL (so easy!!) and it's there within days.
Thank you for making our library so good and user friendly !!
I cannot figure out how the library enters authors for searches. There needs to be one standard. Two examples. 1. If I search and click on: Coben Harlan, I can see the 2011 book Live Wire and request it. If I click on: Coben Harlan 1962, the book is not listed. Same author, not found in the same search. 2. Connelly Michael, The Fifth Witness. Connelly Michael 1956, the book is not listed. Robert Parker can be searched under at least 3 different listings. One standard would help.
I would like to compliment your branch on your excellent cd collection. Often when using mel.org I notice that the items Im looking for are found at the Canton Public Library. Thanks so much!
Please e-mail the computer class schedule. Thanks
Have we ever looked into extending the weekend hours of the library? It would be great to look into longer evening hours!
I recently lost my library card and just want to have it blocked so whoever finds it can't borrow materials under my name !
I've lost my library card key tag. I would like to get another card.
I live in Pinckney, MI and have heard great things about your library. I need to to know if I am able to get a canton card so I may borrow books.
I recently googled Canton Library and came upon your site. I was so impressed by the layout, the depth of information, and the ease of use. I can't tell you how disappointed I was when I realized that this library was not the Canton Baltimore library that I was looking for. Just wanted to let you know how impressed I am with your good work. Keep it up!
The suggestion is to stack the children's dvd's in an up-and-down way, one on top of another for ease in reading titles. Having noticed the Country Living mags were stacked that way recently, I'm wondering if it could work for the those dvd's as well. Would be much easier to read and browse titles, as long as as many dvd's could be stored on each shelf. Perhaps they would slide and slip more easily, but thought it worth considering. Maybe some kind of sectioning device is available.
this is the dumbest thing ever. i like the canton library more then my own, thats why i come here. its ridiculous that i dont have the same benefits as the cpl orange card holders. this needs to change.
Hi I would love to donate some old VHS movies....would you guys accept them? If not, do you know who or where would?
Can you please re-evaluate your policy regarding smoking in the front of the library? Many times I have to walk through a cloud of smoke to return my books or walk into the library. Can you think about creating
a smoking area at the back entrance to the library? I really would appreciate someone taking the time to think about this. It is not healthy to be walking through second hand smoke.
what are your hours for the labor day weekend?
Do you provide proctoring services? I'm taking an online course from an out-of-state university, and I need to find an institution that offers proctoring of exams. I'm a Canton resident.
The phone number (734-397-0999 x1197) listed at the Book and Author luncheon site at http://www.bookandauthor.org/ references the luncheon in May. Also I wanted to ask if sending in my request form prior to September 1 would be OK with the understanding it will not be processed prior to that date. If there is a better way to contact the luncheon organization either by phone or email to ask a question, please advise. Thanks.
I placed DVD Clash of the Titans (2010) on hold thinking this was the recent remake. It turns out this is the original from 1981 which was apparently reissued in 2010. There are 61 holds on this so I am guessing that other people made the same mistake. Is the library planning on ordering the remake of Clash of the Titans? Thank you.
I remember last year you had a bunch of passes for free admission to either selected or all (can't remember) Michigan State Parks. Is that a program you have this year as well?
I currently live in Westland but was raised in Canton, not far from the library. I have not been to the Canton Library in many years. I was wondering if you have any rooms available for individual or two-person study. I have been to the Plymouth Library several times while my son was at Physical Therapy sessions and they have several indiviual rooms that are great for 1-2 people to work on a project and had a sliding door to keep noise down both inside and outside of the room. Do you have anything like that? I have a project I need to work on that I need to spread out but don't like the idea of being out in the open for everyone to peak over my shoulder or worse, for me to be distracted by what is going on in the "outside world".
The Library should have a Cricut for patron use.
All cartridges could be checked out, but the system would stay in the library.
A Gypsy could be used to store all of the cartridges centrally for use with the libraries system.
