Some time ago I suggested that the library could use additional handicap parking spaces. At that time I was informed that the library had sufficient parking according to township standards.
I started making a mental note of my ability to secure a handicap spot during my visits ... and found that I was unable to do so 25% or more of the of the time.
During a recent visit I was delighted to find four additional spots have been designated as handicap parking. Thank you for a long overdue and much needed update!

Can we bring closed liquid into quite study room?
I am a frequent patron of the Canton Library. Sometimes I am there 2 or 3 times a week.
I am really getting tired of the petition solicitors that stand outside the front doors. Most are at least polite, but once I had a guy actually make a derogatory remark when I told him "no" when he asked for a signature.
There probably isn't anything that the Library can do, but I at least wanted to register my profound displeasure with the constant molestation going on for 4 weeks now.
If there is, in fact, anything that can be done PLEASE DO SO.
Thank you for your time.
I'm just wondering why, in the 21st century would you not allow students to use their computers in the silent study room? Do you think people still hand write papers? Do you think that people who need to use their computer don't also need silence to get their work done? Are my keys typing louder than the constant flipping pages and rustling through papers?
I came to Canton Library because it is a beautiful facility, and I was looking for a silent place where I could be productive, but that didn't happen. I saw the sign on the silent study room that said "please step outside to use electronic devices," which I assumed to mean cell phones. Of course no one wants to hear someone talking on their cell phone in silent study, but who was going to step out for a moment to use their laptop? Just to be safe, I walked around the library to find some place else. The individual study rooms were filled, there were no seats in the "quiet area," and there was no way I was going to sit at a table with 10 people or in the loud, common area to try to write an essay, so I went to silent study - an area where I have been able to use my computer at every other library I have ever gone to. No one studying there asked me to leave or even appeared annoyed that I had a laptop open, but an employee came in and asked me to leave. I never thought I would get kicked out of a library, but it happened. I made another trip around looking for a seat, but still could find any.
Is there a fax machine available at the library? Thanks.
I am trying to get a copy of a city counsil meeting that will air wednesday at 9:00AM. Do you do this? If so what do you charge? The city I need is wayne, is there any way you can record the meeting in wayne? I just really need to know if this can be done, wayne library is closed today so I am unable to ak them, any help would be so much appreciated! Thanks, Sue
Hello, does the library have any typewriters for public use?
I use your library to study and use the men's bathroom.
I can't remember a time where the floor underneath the men's
urinals has been free of urine. My feet actually stick to the floor
each time after using them. This happens in the majority of times
I have used the bathroom. Do you actually clean the bathroom
floor daily? Do the little kids pee on the floor? I cannot
understand this.. I have used bathrooms in public places before,
but never have seen it this bad on a reoccuring basis.
As flu and cold season nears, it might be compassionate to supply sanitary wipes at the computer stations. Our tax dollars seem, to me, to include public health, safety and welfare. Thanks!
For the community room rental is there a limitation as to what the function can be? And where can I get rates for rental? Thanks
Hi do you have meeting space for roughly 8-10 people?
IS THERE ANYWAY THAT YOU CAN PUT ANOTHER BOX BY THE MAIN DRIVE TO THE LIBRARY? EVERY TIME I TRY TO RETURN MY BOOKS THERE IS ALWAYS A NUMBER OF CARS PARKED OR JUST SITTING THERE WAITING TO PICK UP THEIR KIDS. IT MAKES IT QUITE HARD TO DRIVE AROUND THE CIRCLE DRIVE, TO RETURN THE BOOKS ETC. BECAUSE THE CIRCLE DRIVE IS NOT WIDE ENOUGH.....
PLEASE CONSIDER THIS!
Do you have a shredder which is available to the public like a printer, copier or scanner? Have several old personal documents to shred, and this job is too much for my little shredder at home. Any suggestions?
The last study room - very cold.
(well, all rooms are very cold)
The lady preparing my food didn't washed her hands after I watched her change the trash bags, put a new a new bag in the trash container. Also, her hands touched the lid of the trash can while throwing my receipt. She then went on to prepare my food without washing her hands. Obviously, she prepared my food with soiled hands. I think this is a poor sign of sanitation and prevention of health illness that may arise from food preparations.
I thought, I would bring this matter to whom ever is concern prior to notifying the State Department. PLEASE address this issue accordingly and in a timely manner before any of the patrons get sick.
The new fax machine seems to be very expensive. Why can't we have access to the old system/pricing. With VOIP this shouldn't cost the library anything, but would still generate a small amount of revenue.
Need a drinking fountain in the children's area. My husband, Dan, is currently a laid-off plumber!
While in the restroom there is no shelf to put library materials (books etc.) on.
Janine(?) in the copy room went out of her way to help me print from a jump drive that would not register on several computers.
Pleasant, helpful, confidential.
Please recognize her for her commitment to patrons.
Please move the ashtray and cigarette butt collectors farther from the entrance and book return. In their current locations, they encourage smokers to congregate at the entrance and near the bench. This is very unpleasant for those of us who do not smoke. Thank you!
