From Page to Stage
From Page to Stage was a discussion we previously offered. Attendees would read the book then come watch the movie and discuss both.
Chevalier transports readers to a bygone time and place in this richly imagined portrait of the young woman who inspired one of Vermeer's most celebrated paintings. "Girl with a Pearl Earring" is the story of 16-year-old Griet, whose life is transformed by her brief encounter with genius, even as she herself is immortalized in canvas and oil. Come see the movie on July 15th at 2p.m. in the community room. Register now for this awe inspiring film which is a work of art itself!
"Memoirs of a Geisha" will be shown on Wednesday May 20th at 2 p.m. in our community room. This is the colorful story of a young girl's transformation into a geisha which spans the early 1930's through World War II and its aftermath. Come join us!
Come join us on Wednesday, April 15th at 2pm as we view the movie and discuss the book "Into the Wild", a true story about a college graduate who hitchhiked the U.S., culminating in his Alaskan experience. Copies of the book are available for signout on the "From Page to Stage" bookshelf. Ask a librarian for a copy and register online to come!
