Group Study & Meeting Rooms

The three group study rooms in the eastern wing of the building are first-come, first-serve; sign up at the East Reference Desk. Rules for use of the group study rooms are available here and at the East Reference Desk, as well as being posted in each group study room. 

The Community Room must be booked in advance by calling the Administrative Office at (734) 397-0999.  Rental fees may apply. Please refer to the Community Room Policy for details and restrictions.

Book a Librarian

Get one-on-one assistance from a librarian on reference projects, Internet use or other library services. Make an appointment and our librarians can help you post a resume to a job hunt site, learn to navigate the web and set up email, get in-depth reference assistance, research a health topic, learn to use a database, and more. It's your own private consultation with a reference librarian, scheduled at your convenience. Call (734) 397-0999 or ask at the Reference Desk to set up your appointment.

May We Suggest?

May We Suggest is a service that provides customized book recommendations to our patrons. To get your own personalized recommendation, just fill out the May We Suggest form -- you can expect results within 10 days.

Copy Center

A copy card is necessary for using most Copy Center services. The reusable card initially costs $1.00, and provides 50¢ worth of printing. Additional value is added in $1.00 increments.We accept Cash or check for other services (fax, supplies, stamps)

If you want to print while using your laptop or mobile device, you should use our wireless printing service. Your print job will stay in the Copy Center print queue until the close of business the day it is sent.

Group Home Visits

We welcome the opportunity to schedule your group to visit the library. Benefits of scheduling a visit include:

  • Materials of your choice can be pulled for you in advance
  • One or more of the library's study rooms can be reserved for your visit
  • We can arrange programs, video presentations, or use of the BiFolkal kits

Assistive Technology

The library makes the following assistive technology available:

  • Wheelchair-accessible Internet stations with 21-inch computer monitor
  • Magnasite reader, a machine that magnifies print (located in the copy center)

Books by Mail

Canton residents who are physically unable to come to the library, either due to a permanent or long-term illness or are over the age of 65, can now have books mailed directly to their home at no charge. For more information go to Books by Mail.
